Fair warning to y-slaybelle, my 2008 selection clearly scoffs at your system, given that I have five authors with a minimum of five books each on the list (many of which were read consecutively) and six more authors with at least two books each. So, better look away now while you have the chance. *weg*

Almost the same total as 2006 (93 in 2007  vs. 90 in 2006)  but a third of this year's selection were trade comics, which are faster to read. Alas, my new to old author ratio fell from 2:3 to 1:3, most likely definitely skewed by my love for reading serial stories, be they comics or novels.

So these were my book resolutions for 2006:

1. Classics should outnumber the bubblegum books.

Check. There was an 73% decrease in my bubblegum books (3 vs. 11) while classics stayed about the same (6 vs. 7)

2. Read more non-fiction and poetry.

Mixed bag. I read less non-fiction (6 vs. 11) but I read a compilation of T.S. Eliot’s ( Read more... )

This year, I read at least 122 books, excluding several trashy novels read over the Christmas break. Of these, 109 were read for the first time and 13 were old favorites that were revisited. I averaged 10 books/month, with August being the peak (21 books) and May the trough (2 books only).
